چکیده

Realistic caloric curves are obtained for 197Au +197 Au reaction with incident energy ranging from 35 to 130 MeV/nucleon in the dynamic statistical multifragmentation model. It is shown that for excitation energy 3 to 8 MeV/nucleon, the temperature remains constant in the range 5 to 6 MeV, which is close to experiment. The mechanism of energy deposition through the tripartition of the colliding system envisaged in this model together with inter-fragment nuclear interaction are found to play important role. A possible signature of liquid-gas phase transition is seen in the specific heat distribution calculated from these caloric curves, and the critical temperature is found to be ∼ 6 to 6.5 MeV. Quantum Fluctuation Effects on Nuclear Multifragmentation

The e ects of quantum uctuations are studied by using the recently developed Quantal Langevin model. It is shown that we can understand various thermal and dynamical aspects of nuclear matter, such as the caloric curve, fragment mass distribution in a thermal environment, and abundant IMF productions in Au+Au collisions in a consistent and microscopic way by taking account of the inherent energ...

Chemical Equilibrium and Isotope Temperatures

The measurement and interpretation of isotopic yield ratios in heavy ion reactions at intermediate and high energies are discussed and the usefulness of these observables for establishing equilibrium properties and for determining thermodynamic parameters is illustrated. The examples are mainly taken from work performed with lighter projectiles at intermediate and high energies and from studies...

Effect of Flow on Caloric Curve for Finite Nuclei

In a finite temperature Thomas-Fermi theory, we construct caloric curves for finite nuclei enclosed in a freeze-out volume few times the normal nuclear volume, with and without inclusion of flow. Without flow, the caloric curve indicates a smooth liquid-gas phase transition whereas with flow, the transition may be very sharp. We discuss these results in the context of two recent experiments, on...

Summary of the latest PHENIX Heavy Ion Results

Laboratory has been taking data for over 10 years. The accumulated data sets span multiple beam energies and collision systems that provide an increasingly detailed picture of the hot and dense medium produced in central heavy ion collisions. This is a summary of our latest results for direct photons, cold nuclear matter effects and a beam energy scan. Figure 1: Invariant yield of direct photon...

AN INDICATION FOR DECONFINEMENT IN Au+Au COLLISIONS AT RHIC

We present simultaneous, quality fits to final BRAHMS, PHENIX, PHOBOS and STAR data on particle spectra and two-particle Bose-Einstein or HBT correlations as measured in Au+Au collisions at √ sNN = 130 GeV. Using the Buda-Lund hydro model, the best fit is achieved when the most central 1/8th of the particle emitting volume is superheated to T > Tc = 170 MeV. In contrast, we find no indication f...
